So, you want to work in PR, huh?
‘Tis the season of caps and gowns, graduation parties, and what will seem like the monumental task of job hunting. Commencement speakers will tell you carpe diem, cherish your friendships, and wear your sunscreen.
That’s all great advice, but it will only get you so far in your quest for that perfect job in PR. I’d like to add in my own two cents as someone who’s braved – and survived – the PR job search many times over.
- Network! Tell anyone and everyone you know that you are on the market for a job. You never know where you might find someone willing to make an introduction for you.

Do Google and Wikipedia look funny to you today?
Until today, have you heard of the proposed Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) and Protect IP Act (PIPA)? It’s not surprising if you haven’t. Unless you read the tech blogs, you probably didn’t come across a story about in your morning news scan. But, if you use the Internet in almost any way, then it’s time to pay attention.

The best booths have four things in common:
- High-energy staff – and plenty of ‘em. No waiting for sales people means fewer prospects walk away.
- No boundaries. Sales people who step out of their physical ‘box’ to start conversations with people walking by end up bringing them into the booth. And they’re already hitched.
- Location. The front and center of the room are still the best places to be. Don’t believe the organizers who say that More >
Have you heard of Epsilon?
If you are a customer of Capital One, Best Buy, Walgreens, TiVo, or J.P. Morgan Chase, you’ve probably heard that name once or twice over the past week.
Through our work with our security clients we’re constantly tracking the latest security threats and data breaches, positioning our clients as experts to speak about the attacks. Very seldom do these breaches hit close to home. Epsilon changed that.
Several of us at Corporate Ink received notifications from our credit card companies and retailers of choice that our email addresses may have been compromised by this breach. Epsilon was a More >
